This Saturday night at UFC on FOX 23, burgeoning heavyweight prospect Francis Ngannou steps into the Octagon for the fifth time, well aware that an impressive victory against former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei “The Pit Bull” Arlovski will punch his ticket to the yellow brick road of the division’ Holy Grail.

Though defeated in his last outing (Josh Barnett), and seven days shy of his 38th birthday, “The Pit Bull” still has some growl left in him. However, I doubt very much that growl will be enough to put a monkey wrench in the ameliorating “The Predator.”

Since inking for the WME-IMG owned company (just over a year ago), the Cameroon born French citizen has racked up four wins (all via stoppage).

Ngannou, 30, who trains out of MMA Factory, has only tasted defeat once in ten pro mixed martial arts bouts. Of his nine victories, all ended in finishes – four variants of submissions, and five T/KOs.

Currently ranked No. 10 in the UFC rankings, Ngannou (9-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) possess all the attributes requisite for competing in the land of the giants – height (6’4″), reach (83″), weight, agility, power, striking prowess and an ever-improving ground game to trouble any of the top-ten heavyweights.

The world is now Ngannou’s oyster, and he will capitalise on this opportunity with predatory instincts – slaying his prey #7 ranked Arlovski in scintillating fashion, thus putting the heavyweight division on Code red.

After tonight, Ngannou is destined for heavyweight glory.

UFC on FOX 23 is slated for Sat., Jan. 28, 2017 at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado
