Josh Barnett may not have made a specific prediction for his UFC Fight Night 93 (aka, UFC Hamburg) bout against fellow heavyweight veteran Andrei Arlovski, but he did promise the crowd at Friday’s ceremonial weigh-ins a memorable experience.

“It’s incredibly important to me that Hamburg — and Deutschland, in general — has an amazing heavyweight main event,” he told UFC announcer and former top-ranked welterweight fighter Dan Hardy. “And by bringing in somebody like Arlovski to be my dancing partner, there’s no way this is gonna fall anywhere short of that.”

Earlier that day — so early that it was still Thursday night in Hamburg — Barnett and Arlovski both made the 265lbs heavyweight limit with ease, hitting the scales at 256lbs and 238lbs respectively during the official weigh-ins.

In fact, all 22 fighters made weight for their bouts at FN 93, which takes place Saturday, September 3rd in Hamburg, Germany and airs live on UFC Fight Pass.

The fighter face-offs were largely uneventful, although Alexander “The Mauler” Gustaffson and opponent Jan Blachowicz — who fight in the night’s co-main event — did get in each others’ faces for a moment, even going forehead to forehead before separating and shaking hands.

Additionally, UFC newcomer Veronica Macedo deserves an honorable mention for her dead-eye staredown of Ashlee Evans-Smith after both fighters made weight for their preliminary bantamweight tilt.

Stay tuned to PBI for full coverage of UFC Fight Night 93 / UFC Hamburg, live on Saturday, September 3.
